Continuning on my catchup of all these vacation posts now that I’m sitting in Panera in Eagan, MN waiting for Kim to finish up at the doctor for her sprained ankle…
On Thursday of vacation I went down to the beach at around 8:30 to try and ride some waves at high tide. While the tide might have been coming in, there was no wind and thus no reasonable waves. The entire week the ocean was like a big lake (quite a bit like Superior but 85 degrees ;))
Anyway, after ditching the beach at around 10AM I went back to make breakfast and get Kim out of bed. After eating and getting re-ready, we headed back to the beach in the early afternoon to read, nap, and enjoy the day.
Kim and I spent quite a while at the beach while our friends either stayed back in the condo or left the beach in short order. I guess living in Minnesota makes us more likely to want to enjoy the sun and waves while we can ;)
After dinner, Josh and I headed over to Callahan’s (right outside Shipyard) for some beer and Golden Tee. I swore we had been there in 2004 but as soon as we walked in we realized we hadn’t. It’s possible that we went there first looking for Golden Tee but ended up walking down the road to the next bar to play there… Whatever.
Anyway, I ordered a pitcher (they have a habit of putting a container of ice into their pitchers to keep them cold which ends up leaking water into the beer) and we played a couple games. I was ready to go after the first pitcher and game but it was obvious that Josh wanted to stay as he returned with another pitcher and some Jaeger Bombs for himself.
After a few more games and a second pitcher I had enough. Josh told me he was staying and threw me his keys. I was thrilled to await the drunken call later that night…
At 1:30AM I got the call, “Dude, I just puked in the bushes, come get me!”
