So if you only pay attention to the streams, how exactly do you find out what is going on when the government decides it doesn’t need to be recorded. I.e. the work sessions in Farmington, or the Dakota County Commissioners holding their “informal” meetings?

It seems the idea from the Burnsville Mayor is to stop looking behind the curtain and just watch what you’re given to watch.

Kudos to Jessica Fleming at the Pioneer Press for her unbiased, fact checked, reporting on the City of Burnsville. Frankly, while I understand that while newspapers include the occasional fluff piece, I appreciate fact based reporting with some in depth analysis as well. The truth of the matter is, its not always going to be “good news.” I appreciate that Jessica is willing to report the “bad news” too, and not just the information the City/Mayor wants to highlight. Hmm. Makes me think about subscribing…any good deals out there on the PiPress?

And the Mayor’s quote, well, it would just make me want to dig a little bit more and have Jessica ask even tougher questions.

Two articles in today’s Strib . one regarding the recommendation by burnsville staffer Tom Hansen to drop membership in National League of Cities, saving the City $6,000 per year. In another article Burnsville WINS an award from the National League of Cities for the New surface water treatment plant. That IS the plant that is emanating the foul smelling/tasting water. HUM………maybe if we return the award we can get our $6,000 back.
