I’d like you to read the two options below and then comment with your choice of which was more annoying tonight:
1. Following our walk over to Founders Circle we headed over to Culvers so Kimmy could get her ice cream fix. Kimmy, when visiting local areas, loves to pick up copies of Coffee Talk and read through them.
Almost immediately she blurts out “OH MY GOD!” and I spun around expecting something of the utmost importance to be occurring. Fortunately it was just a strange advertisement taken out by a local couple (Tim and Kim) who are looking to adopt.
Instead of following the usual route for these things (Russia, China, or the long waits for a baby from the US) they decided to take out an ad in a local, low distribution, paper and try their luck with that.
Well, I hope it works out for them because all I have to say is that it’s pretty fucking retarded from where I stand. I certainly wouldn’t allow these people to adopt my child if they were taking that route.

2. American Idol and Sanjaya Malakar (with the bad hair, horrible fucking vocals, and near tear inducing performance that *I* could top at a bar drunk as a skunk while throwing up) singing Bonnie Raitt’s Something to Talk About.
He looked something like my dog with that fucking rag in his frizzed out hair and sang like shit. I begged Kim to fast forward.
For some reason American Idol insists on this stupid fucking Country signing night. It’s inappropriate and most of the fucking singers aren’t going to perform in that genre and shouldn’t be forced to just to make those country fans like the show.

So, which is it? American Idol or Douchebag Adoption?

American Idol is worse.
AI–Unexplainable stupidity. Its all about money and people trying to be famous.
Adoption–Sitting at home with my four kids, I wouldn’t know much about adoption. What I do know is that many, maybe most, people who are adopting are desperate. They would like to have a natural born child but can’t. The reason, ideally, that they want to adopt is that they want to love a baby. There are definitely some exceptions, but this doesn’t seemed that “douche bag” to me–just sad and desperate.
