On the heels of my fairly “popular” post recently about an Apple Valley police officer threatening to use a taser on a restrained citizen, we now find out that St Paul orders out for tasers for every officer!
Now, according to the article that will add 230 tasers at a cost of over $200,000 and that, just last month, New Brighton resident Mark Backlund died after being hit with a taser by State Police.
The article mentions three times that the St Paul police are looking for “safe” ways to end threats by purchasing these devices but following some recent discussions I’ve had after my Apple Valley taser post, I’m not sure tasers are the best way to arrive there.
What do you think?

If you are so against our brave police officers that you can do nothing but rail against them on your blog, maybe you should go through Century College’s law enforcement program and become a police officer yourself. It is very easy to criticize while you sit in your armchair at home and blog.

You are so anti law enforcement that nothing you say can be taken seriously. You should at least attempt to be a decent journalist.
