Kimmy and I took Buddy down to Powderfinger Point on the Mississippi River which is located in Spring Lake Park Reserve.
Spring Lake Park Reserve is my favorite park in Minnesota and this was the first time I was able to explore the western end. They have a beautiful archery range that includes elevated start points! I think it had 28 stations or so over the entire park.
The trail down to the river was nice (and away from the archers) and we were very surprised at the beautiful sunset. The air quality due to the heat is pretty crappy but it is certainly making for some beautiful colors even on a clear night. Buddy took a quick swim but the river was moving too fast and was too deep for him to splash around for too long. I found a cache nearby and we headed back.
The bugs were pretty rough but at least I didn’t find any ticks!
