tormenta en el remolar 01 – storm – little twister originally uploaded by Ferran Pestaña
Last week’s poll asked about gun permits. While we live in a liberal state which hates everything there is about the gun permit process, the number of people applying for permits is growing yearly and the number of people responding to the poll positively was huge. Clearly here in Dakota County we stand apart from those who hate freedom ;-)
This week’s poll is about your ability to protect yourself from thunderstorm damage. Being that I live in a townhome that has absolutely no protection from thunderstorms, I am constantly afraid for the safety of my family when one of those beasts roll through. Other cities, such as Lakeville, have mandated that a reinforced room exist in houses without basements so that people have a better chance of survival. All we have is an interior bathroom on the first floor where we huddle and pray for the best. Honestly, I am guessing that if a tornado tore through our neighborhood it would look very much like a tornado magnet (trailer park) was hit.
Do you feel that you have adequate protection from a tornado if it were to rip through your neighborhood? Do you have a reinforced room in your home mandated by code? Do you think that all cities should have them? Are they really enough? With the county constantly blowing sirens, when do you decide it’s time to get into your safe place?
Whatever you have to say about this one vote on the sidebar and then comment on below. After you do both of those things feel free to check out our expired polls in the archive or read through the previous posts about polls here.
