Last week’s poll asked if you were a procrastinator or a planner. The overwhelming majority of people responded they were a procrastinator with only a small handful reporting they did any planning at all. Considering I have three papers due today (5 PM and two at 11:59 PM) and I’m writing this instead of doing those, I prove I am definitely not a planner–except in the way that I planned to procrastinate ;)
This week’s poll comes courtesy of The Wife who wants to know how many trick or treaters you’ve been getting recently and whether it’s changed over the years. I swear we’ve talked about this before, but I couldn’t find a poll about it nor any discussion so here it is again if we have… With kids now of the age they can go trick or treating, we’ve been introduced to the “Month of Trick or Treating” where kids are invited to any number of locales, usually in stores or parking lots, to get dressed up and receive treats from a ton of different people and businesses. I could see how by the time you get to the actual day of Halloween that it’s just pointless to get yourselves out the door to wander around your neighborhood for yet another time to do it the right way.
I still plan to take the little guy out on Halloween (he’s Buzz Lightyear this year) and wander the streets getting candy. I actually felt really silly going to Lakeville Crossing (where Spice Thai and Carbone’s are) to get candy from all the businesses there. While The Rooster had a blast jumping in one of the several available bouncy houses and getting a free pumpkin (with canned good donation), it was just a bit much for me even though I appreciated the “free” pumpkin.
So have you noticed a decline in the number of trick or treaters over the years? Do you think all the Halloween-related events running throughout the entire month of October is what impacts it or do you think people have other issues with actual trick or treating? Whatever you have to say about this one go ahead and vote on the sidebar and then comment on below as I’d love to hear what you have to say.
