Bummer. I haven't been there in quite some time (we used to live next door) and I haven't ever been there for lunch.

I should really go back and see if it's still as good for dinner as it used to be.

of go-to restaurants.

The food is good but the service has been lacking the past few months. Everytime we show up for lunch, there is only one person waiting the table and the wait times seems like he may be the chef too.

Just thought I'd mention that.

The food is quite good.......but the service is just Horrible. It's too bad because the ambiance and food, especially the pizza is really good. Regardless of how good the food and ambiance is, we have had too many bad experiences at Viva that we can't justify going there anymore. If you want really good pizza, go to Briannos.

You need to re-visit Viva. It's under new management and is quite good. The gnoccis are too rich for me, but the lasagna rocks. The chocolate cake tastes like it's out of a box, but the cheesecake is definitely fresh. Service is adequate but the server could not pronounce the wine I ordered. The other restaurant to try is Perrin's in Prior Lake. Very small but very good.

Kim and I haven't been to Stefano's in Burnsville since we lived nearby from 2002 - 2004. Hopefully their wonderful little location hasn't changed in the two years since we were last there. Let us know what you think, we're always happy to hear from and post what the locals have to say.

Maybe I can convince Kim to take me there soon :) We already have Valentine's reservations so we'll have to find another excuse :)

My husband I have had similar experiences at Viva Italia. At our first visit the services was so slow that we weren't sure we wanted to go back. Well, we decided this past weekend to give it a whirl again. We were disappointed. The young lady working the hostess stand did not have a clue. People were backed up outside and did not acknowledge anyone. When asked a question about a reservation or a seating assignment, she got the "deer in the headlights look", and told everyone to just wait a minute. I was so embarassed for her, but mostly for the management, who were nowhere to be found.

Our appietizer was cold bread with stringy cheese. Our dinners (Halibut and Scampi Lucia) were below average. My husbands halibut was fishy (OK, we lived in Florida for years as well as Minnesota and have NEVER tasted "fishy" halibut, regardless of where it was from). The scampi came without pasta, which had to be added. We took almost all of our food home, but, like you, threw it away.

We will take your suggestion and try the Burnsville resturant as we too, do not recommend Viva Italia.
