Green Christmas Lights originally uploaded by Loren Sztajer
Last week’s poll asked about your preference for light bulbs. I must admit I was quite surprised that a majority of respondents noted, even with the near mandate to move to CFLs, they preferred incandescent lighting. I really do prefer everything about the incandescents and would really like to see LED lighting take over for price alone, but with the awful way they look, I think I’ll always prefer the old to the new.
This week’s poll comes on my most favorite Christmas in many years–a green one! I haven’t seen a green Christmas in many years, since I was a child and we had a fluke few years of little snow before it came back in a fury, and have been wishing for it ever since. After the last two winters of entirely too much snow, this is a welcome relief however I do really fear that the seasons are permanently shifting to later dates (snow comes later and stays later into the summer) threatening my beloved summers.
Do you want a ton of snow on the ground? Do you really believe that it makes or breaks the holiday season to have no snow? Do you think the term “brown Christmas” is really just the haters hating and not celebrating the joys of a lack of the usual white stuff getting in the way of everything at this time of year? Whatever you have to say about this one vote on the sidebar and then comment on below. After you do both of those things feel free to check out our expired polls in the archive or read through the previous posts about polls here.
