Bill Roehl originally uploaded by Aaron Landry

The author of Lazy Lightning, Bill Roehl, is a thirty-something data geek for an institution of higher education based in Minneapolis who is very slowly working his way towards a Masters in Public Administration. Married to The Wife and father to The Rooster, Bill is busy with work, play, and school but manages to find some time to write an article six days a week (Sunday to Friday).

Watching public meetings across Dakota County, scouring data provided by various public sector groups, and aggregating content provided by other news outlets, Bill provides analysis, insight and easy access to information which few other outlets take the time to research and/or even bother to provide. In other words, Lazy Lightning is your one-stop source for the best in news and local politics for Dakota County residents.

In addition to the work covering local news and politics, Lazy Lightning is Dakota County’s best restaurant news and review source. Over 200 restaurant reviews have been published and include detailed descriptions, frank commentary and photographs which have been described as food porn by Lazy Lightning readers.

Even with all the work done by its author, Lazy Lightning’s greatest asset are its contributors. Hailing from all over the Metro, readers provide their own responses, insights, and opinion which often counter Bill’s own writing in their nearly 35,000 comments posted over the last six years. Discussion is always welcome and as long as users provide a valid e-mail address and are clear about any relationships or special interests they have in a topic being discussed, anyone is welcome to join the ranks of the hundreds who comment monthly.
