Well, as many of you know, I hit something with the car on 494 last week and had to get it taken care of.
I contacted my insurance agent and asked them what to do. The agent on the phone told me to go to my body shop of choice, have them do an estimate, and then call back. So, I did that — on Friday night after work I drove down to Walser Collision & Glass in Bloomington and got the estimate ($1069.31) and then called the insurance agent back.
I was then informed that they would process the claim and get back to me Saturday. Sure enough, Saturday morning I got a call that they had received the claim but that I would have to drive it over to their own shop in Burnsville for one of their own estimates.
I called first to make certain I wouldn’t get the run around and here I was getting exactly that. I’m tiring of Kirk Detlefsen’s agents. I had issues w/the $1 million insurance policy I had for the event (linked above) and them charging me $50 when they said it would be free, etc.
Anyway, I brought it in this morning and their estimate was more than what Walser gave me (by $9). They cut me a check, minus my deductible, and off I went.
Now I have to fax the new estimate over and start the process. I should be able to get the car in this week and Walser said it will likely take 3 to 4 days. Blah.
