I brought back the search box and moved it to the other side of the banner. This stops the awkward movement when you click links on the page but there are two additional boxes (which are now down to lines) after the button.
I haven’t a clue why this is but I was tired of having to manually type the search URL to find what I wanted ;)
I’ll figure it out eventually I guess.
I finally got around to enabling zip code proximity searching. After futzing around with the code and finally stumbling across a patch that fixes some issues I was having with the module, I got it up and running.
The output is fairly ugly (I modified the code to only return the title and link rather than the entire article text) but you can play around with it some more here if you want.
Enjoy.
After reading about Ed Kohler adding GeoRSS to his site, I was reminded that I had wanted to install and use both the Location and GMap modules on my site to store addresses and coordinates for mapping purposes.
Well, I started yesterday morning and finally finished today after sinking nearly 8 hours into entering addresses and/or coords for each node on the site.
To see a Google map of all node locations, check out this map.
Soon I’ll be adding zip code proximity search capabilities that come as part of the Location module. That will all be dependent on the fucking search box working with Firefox. Bleh.
I upgraded to Firefox 2.0.0.2 and it breaks the search box on the Drupal theme (Barlow) that I’m using. I tried to futz with it to get it to stop, but I couldn’t get around it.
Because the end result is annoying (the page jumps around when you try to click links) I had to disable the search box for now.
Bleh.
