We were invited to what was labelled “Not a Timeshare Presentation” that included a free champagne breakfast and a laundry list of things to do on the island. They gave out brochures and had the concierge staff on hand to schedule all your activites through the hotel.
The food was good and so was the presentation. We ended up choosing a couple things including the Bike Down the Volcano, the Drums of the Pacific Luau at the Hyatt/Regency, and a lei making class at the hotel.
Afterwards there was a bit of pressure to go for a timeshare presentation later in the week but I told them that we already owned one and that we were not interested. After some more prodding the woman finally moved on with an evil little grin on her face. More fresh meat elsewhere I guess.
After breakfast we got changed and headed straight for the beach. We spent all day there watching the fish on the reef right outside the hotel and hanging out in the pool and ocean. The water was clear and very nice. The pool was gorgeous!
At 4pm we headed over to the Moonlight Lounge for free drinks until 6. Met some nice couples that were also staying at the hotel that week and we went out to dinner at the Castaway Cafe. A tiny little place tucked out of sight between two condo units and behind their pool. They had great food (Mahi Mahi mmm) at reasonable prices. They had an extensive wine cellar that we didn’t get to tap but if we ever go back I’m sure to bring an extra $300 for some of their best wines :)
