Ahhh, yes, another genius move by those that are planning developments in the ever expanding urban sprawl that is Apple Valley, MN. It never fucking ceases to amaze me that when 100 people tell a corporation that their idea blows and the corporation pretty much does whatever it wants anyway.
In this case I’m talking about the Cobblestone Lake neighborhood in Apple Valley. This area is very close to Rosemount and is on the eastern side of Apple Valley. Apparently the developers have had a plan to put some sort of shopping area in the community but the residents have always felt that it would be something less sprawlish (Target, Buffalo Wild Wings, Coldstone Creamery, and Cub) and more like Grand Ave.
Of course the developers don’t want to bring in smaller shops that have character, oh no, they want to bring in a huge and unncessary Target store. Great fucking idea douchebags!
To illustrate exactly why this is a completely retarded idea, I have included the following map (please do feel free to click on it for more information):
Yup, 4 miles away (2.5 as the crow flies) right there in the center of Apple Valley is another fucking Target. Now, obviously these planners are going to get some sort of huge kickback if they get Target in there or there would be no other reason why they would want to do this.
It’s not like people are going to walk to Target. Nope, they would still drive if this target was closer than the one at the corner of Cedar and 42.
