After reading about Ed Kohler adding GeoRSS to his site, I was reminded that I had wanted to install and use both the Location and GMap modules on my site to store addresses and coordinates for mapping purposes.
Well, I started yesterday morning and finally finished today after sinking nearly 8 hours into entering addresses and/or coords for each node on the site.
To see a Google map of all node locations, check out this map.
Soon I’ll be adding zip code proximity search capabilities that come as part of the Location module. That will all be dependent on the fucking search box working with Firefox. Bleh.

Man, that’s a lot of markers. I dig it.

Ed,
I should probably install the “swarm” support so that areas with a lot of markers (the Mpls/St Paul metro) are marked with one large marker instead of all those little ones. That way the load times are decreased and the craziness is as well.
I also need to figure out how to stop it from loading the ENTIRE node in the information windows and instead do something else. That’s for another snowy weekend :)

I could have sworn that I was talking GeoRSS to you months ago and you told me to get life.
And ummm, no, I still don’t have a GPS device. ;)

You were talking to me about geotagging photos and that you wanted to get an addon that would allow you to geotag your photos.
I told you to get a GPS unit (that’s inexpensive) and then use the third party software utilities to match your GPS tracks up to your EXIF data on the photos to do the geotagging.
You told me to get a life :)

I added GeoRSS support to my feeds now as well. I just want to be like Ed!
