Well, I’m a little late on this post because work has been busy and when I get home I’m too lazy to make dinner and then post stuff about what I did that morning. Heh. Maybe in a couple days I’ll be back into the swing of things… Unfortunately, with the way things are looking for the summer (now that Kim and I are collaborating on our schedule with Google Calendar) I’m going to be up to my ears in work to do.
Anyway, on with the swimming talk! I got there around 6:30 and was waiting for the woman to open the doors for me. I was worried that we’d have a repeat of the “locked doors incident” but she arrived soon after. It gave me a couple minutes to get some water in me…
Today I wasn’t alone in the pool. Apparently the Minnesota Zoo lost one of its whales for about 15 minutes as she had temporarily taken up residence in the first lane. We only have 45 minutes in the morning and she came in 15 to 20 minutes after I did. She was out at least 10 minutes before me. Wow, what a work out! Good for you to spend more time getting dressed and subsequently dry than you did in the pool.
My goal for today was to work on IM — hard. I wasn’t so concerned with yardage as long as I was killing myself while doing it. Overall I felt good, especially on the fly (weird). I’m hoping to move up to 200 IMs again soon :(
200 S/K/P/S 800 8 x 100 IM S Fast 2:00 800 8 x 50 K (IMO) 1:10 400 200 WD 200 2200
It’s a little disappointing looking up at the clock after you just went “all out” to find out that you are about 20 seconds slower than your best time in the 100 IM heh. I held all the 100’s on ~1:10 with the slowest one being just under 1:14. Good pace and speed work!
Kim and I won’t be swimming tomorrow :( Oh well, we have better things planned — like going to North Dakota ;)

If you are seriously overweight or are doing some sort of rehab, you can’t just go from doing nothing to 3000m of swiming in one fell swoop. People have to work up these things, and if they do it in 15-20 minute chunks to start with, more power to them. At least they are working at it.

She was more of a whale in her attitude than her weight. I wasn’t pleased with her antics in the pool — I didn’t care how much she weighed.
I’m no skinny minny :)
