This weekend Dave, Chuck, and I headed up to Winnipeg Manitoba for a weekend of caching. Dave and I had talked about this last fall but at the time there were only about 60 caches within 10 miles of city center. This year however there were over 250!
We headed up there and cached our hearts out. We found 136 caches over the weekend and drove around 850 miles!
The caches we attempted in Manitoba weren’t exactly what we were used to but with all the comments and questions I received from the cachers in Manitoba, it’s obvious that they are doing what they can to quickly and effectively improve the caches in their area. I have a lot of respect for those that are interested in that — people after my own heart!
We ate both nights at Grapes which had a restaurant across from our hotel. We were sleeping in a shady section of town and the choices were slim. In walking distance it was either the titty bar or Grapes.
Grapes it was. Their food was ok and the 14 beers on tap were a nice touch. I especially like their soup bar (no salad?!). The prices were a little expensive but whatever, right?
See all the pictures from this trip here, here, and here (camera).
