So, I’m thumbing through the recent Google searches that generate traffic to my site and I fire one up. I see something that I would never, in a million years, have written:
Bill Roehl and Kim Roehl | http://www.lazylightning.org
Weblog describes their wedding, and chronicles their lives, including geocaching,
restaurant reviews.
www.lazylightning.org/ - 21k - Nov 16, 2005 - Cached - Similar pages
So, Google is populating its snippets with data that a) is incorrect, b) is entered by someone else, and c) is lame. Thanks Google for trusting *another* source for populating your database with information about *my* website.
I did some searching around and could not locate a place that I could contact anyone about updating my DMOZ data (without becomming one of their “editors) or just having Google go back to using what is in my description field of my RSS feed. Cute. I appreciate being labelled by someone else. Not cool.
So, the DMOZ data says:
Bill Roehl and Kim Roehl - Weblog describes their wedding, and chronicles their lives, including geocaching, restaurant reviews.
– http://www.lazylightning.org/ Regional: North America: United States: Minnesota: Localities: L: Lakeville: Society and Culture (1)
That’s nice and all but I’m not in Lakeville and it’s missing moblogging, pwning, and it calls my site a “weblog” which it most certainly is not. It’s a fucking website that chronicles nothing, certainly not my life! Google, get yourself back on track and have ACCURATE information provided by the site owners themselves!
