Kimmy bought me some handmade and very different tasting chocolates from John & Kira’s (Real People, Amazing Chocolates) for Valentines Day. Knowing I love good chocolates, she did some pretty extensive research to find me something both special and extra yummy.
The chocolates came in a wooden box wrapped in a cloth ribbon bow and sealed with wax. As you opened the box you were offered an insert explaining the various flavors contained inside.
So far I’ve tried three of their chocolates: “Drew Elementary School Garden Mint”, “Glenn’s Raspberry”, and “Lavender Honey”.
The Garden Mint is a chocolate that they are well known for. Their insert explains that they “infuse mint leaves picked from the Drew School garden into fresh cream to create the most amazing mint chocolates you’ve ever tasted.” Very interesting flavor.
The Lavender Honey chocolates are described as “delightfully sweet, made of pure local honey, Valrhona chocolate and cream, and infused with lavender flowers.” An interesting combo that left me tasting the sweet honey but unable to detect any lavender…
Glenn’s Raspberry was by far my favorite, being that I’m a huge raspberry/chocolate candy lover. They are described as “red raspberries from Glenn’s farm pulped and blended with milk chocolate.” While I’d normally prefer a dark chocolate with my raspberry filling, this variation had me craving more.
I’m saving the limited supply to enjoy all week.
