Back in mid-September (I can’t fucking believe it’s October already) I mentioned in a South Metro News Roundup that I have setup an event at Anthony’s Parkway Grill in Burnsville which will include dinner (6:30p) and a comedy show at the famed MinneHAHA Comedy Club (8:00p).
I have already setup an event page here where you can RSVP for the event (please do so by Friday 10/16). It’s pretty easy to do and you’ll have just as much fun as we’ve had at the many other events we’ve had in the past (Ronin Sushi Cafe Meetup, “Breakfast Burgers” at King’s Place, Chili’s, and Ansari’s).
If you’re just looking for dinner or for comedy, please comment on below or let me know privately so I can make the appropriate arrangements with the staff. Feel free to RSVP and we hope to see you at Anthony’s Parkway Grill on 10/23! If you have any other ideas for other places we can meet up go ahead and let us hear your suggestions (no, no more Chili’s Mrs. Marcos).

Hey Bill,
We’ll be unable to attend this one, as we’ll be out at the final camping trip of the season! We’ll be sure to catch the next one tho.

We have to put this one on hold. I was contacted by the owner of the MinneHAHA Comedy Club and was told that due to construction delays the comedy club will not be ready until at least 10/30.
Once I hear more I’ll update everyone. Blah.

That is too bad. It looks like Anthony’s Opened this weekend. On both sides of the sign it says “Open at 11″ and it looks like there are patrons inside.

Went to this establishment last night for a date night. They do not have a huge menu. Typical food – burgers, sandwiches, usual appetizers and entrees. The decor was dark and the tables nicely spaced out (we ate in the bar). $4.50 for a beer! I had a reuben with a side salad. Nothing to write home about. It was very lacking in the meat & kraut department compared to Rascal’s. My husband got the beef sandwich. It too was lacking in the meat department. His side was fries which were pretty typical. He loves seasoned sour cream, but they did not have any. Pretty disappointing meal. I will say the parkway burger looked decent. Doubtful of a return visit. The servers were very attentive!

We also ate at the Parkway Grille last night. We sat in the dining room which at first seemed too open and bright. After a while, a manager dimmed the lights a bit and it helped, but still lacking any sort of cozy feel. The restaurant was fairly busy, most tables were filled.
I was disappointed when looking over the menu. Nothing jumped out at me. It all seemed to be fairly standard fare.
Started with onion rings for an appetizer. They were good plain ‘ol onion rings, nothing special, served with ketchup.
My wife ordered a BLT wrap and I tried the “Bistro Beef” sandwich. The Bistro Beef was recommended by the server and since the description mentioned one of the toppings was a jalapeno cream cheese I thought it might have at least a little kick. Wrong. My sandwich was served on a standard hamburger bun, which was too soft for this type of sandwich (they could have at least toasted it). The sandwich itself was OK, the steak was nice and tender but as a whole it lacked any excitement at all. I don’t care if it was a top cut of meat, the sandwich was not worth $11.
My wife only ate half of her wrap. I tried it and thought it was decent, but I wouldn’t likely order it myself.
Overall, I was pretty disappointed. It wasn’t cheap, and it certainly wasn’t anything memorable, although the service was great.
It seemed that the average age of the folks in the dining room was about 30 years older than us, so maybe they’ll end up doing just fine serving bland boring food.

Today is the last day to RSVP for this event. They’d like to have a number of how many plan on coming. So, if you’re even thinking about it, please do RSVP here: http://www.lazylightning.org/events/?event_id=4 and we hope to see you next Friday!
