Just one question…coke or pepsi? ;)
April 9th, 2009 at 3:11 pm
Please say coke.
April 9th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
I kind of want it to say Pepsi, just to watch the fallout.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Baseball and King’s: Sounds like a recipe for a tremendous day. I’ll let dawn sign me up, though.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:59 pm
Apparently that means we’ll be there. Sign us up for two. I may be whiny though as I’m riding in a 25 mile bike ride the day before.
April 9th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
Whiny people have to sit in the smoking section and drink Pepsi products.
April 10th, 2009 at 8:53 am
I would say, judging by the Coca Cola sign in front of King’s Place, that (once again) Coke is IT!
May 1st, 2009 at 10:56 am
We’re sitting at a possible group of 19 so far. Not bad. If you’re interested in some of the best burgers in the state (if not the best), sign up!
May 3rd, 2009 at 12:51 pm
Hanging out with young people, sounds invigorating. Count me in.
May 3rd, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Oh now that Sank is in, you just have to want to join us. Sign up and get ready to see one of the funniest motherfuckers I have ever met crack jokes left and right!
May 3rd, 2009 at 6:22 pm
But.. my social anxiety. I’ll have to self medicate again. Do they serve Beam?
May 3rd, 2009 at 6:23 pm
They have a full bar but I’m not sure what they serve specifically.
May 3rd, 2009 at 9:09 pm
I’ll bring a flask for Sank…us socially anxious people have to stick together.
May 3rd, 2009 at 9:29 pm
I have a flask! It’s covered in faux pink crocodile! I’ll bring it!
The information concerning the faux pink crocodile is critical.
May 4th, 2009 at 8:22 am
motherfuckers!!!!!!!!!! don’t let jimmie m. read this!!!
bb
May 4th, 2009 at 8:52 am
let me see if i understand this correctly. kings place, biker place, more harleys in the parking lot than i’ve seen in my life. lotsa chrome!
d.m. appears on scene with a pink crocodile flask, ‘gator??
i hope you’re not wearing a matching outfit:)
bb
May 4th, 2009 at 9:17 am
bb: you forgot “faux”. A very important distinction for all of those PETA members who wish to protect the pink crocodile from extinction.
May 4th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
Great, so the PETA people will be picketing the Lazy Lightning event?! I wonder how many will LL readers will show up with “PETA – people eating tasty animals” tshirts.
As the awesome MSPD might say, “PROTEST THIS, BITCHES!”
May 4th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
Mrs. M, I’ll buy this t-shirt for you: http://tinyurl.com/67hn95
May 4th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
PETA…heh. All we’d need to do is flash Bill’s photo of my disfigured lamb ankle entree from Ansari’s. What could be a more “ethical treatment of animals” than saving a mal-formed, growth challenged lamb from a lifetime of ridicule and humiliation by its peers?
May 4th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
w.o.w., i flunked french in reform school!!!
i like my peta stuffed and grilled.
i still like the pink!

May 22nd, 2009 at 1:11 pm
BTW, two days left to RSVP so if you’re interested in attending please let us know so that I can inform King’s Place of how many of us they should expect!
May 22nd, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Hey Bill, the RSVP thing seems to have outsmarted me. Can you count me in for two adults and a two year old?
May 23rd, 2009 at 5:41 am
Chad, yup. I got you setup!

bb
May 23rd, 2009 at 8:33 am
Why don’t you invite the Mrs? Does she hate hamburgers and baseball? Is she unamerican? ;)
May 23rd, 2009 at 8:36 am
She probably likes ketchup.
May 23rd, 2009 at 8:55 am
she likes heinz 57, so do i. so so on the baseball. she was born and raised in international falls!! that qualifies her as american:) introducing her to a room full of strange strangers?? i’ll work on it!
bb
May 23rd, 2009 at 9:28 am
Ketchup is the nectar of the gods and is as American as you can get! (although only Heinz ketchup is acceptable – Hunts ‘catsup’ is repulsive and DEFINITELY unamerican!)
Work on her, bb! We’re less strange in person!
May 23rd, 2009 at 10:43 am
ew
May 24th, 2009 at 10:16 am
actually she should qualify for dual citizenship, hey!
bb
May 25th, 2009 at 8:39 am
I contacted King’s and let them know that there would probably be ~25. Thanks to everyone who RSVPd and we look forward to seeing you on the 7th!
May 27th, 2009 at 7:46 am
They have the back room all ready for us on the 7th! Yay.
May 27th, 2009 at 7:51 am
OMFG I want to die!
They have recently changed location for the game on 6/7 to Northfield and thus we won’t be able to do the Baseball portion of the event. So much for planning ahead :(

BOO.
May 27th, 2009 at 8:03 am
next time.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:56 am
Bill,
If you die we could make an outing out of your funeral…burgers afterwards (in your memory of course).
May 31st, 2009 at 7:12 pm
Is the fact that there is no longer a baseball game this day (it was moved as I mentioned above) a deal breaker for anyone?
May 31st, 2009 at 8:51 pm
a greaze burger is a greaze burger is a greaze burger!!
i’m in!
bb
May 31st, 2009 at 10:48 pm
The game wont be a dealbreaker for us, but I just found out that my parents and my inlaws might both be coming to see us for the weekend, which would be a deal breaker. I will let you know as the week goes on.
June 5th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
MSPD, are you showing up?
June 6th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Hi sandy…unfortunately I won’t be there. This is definitely one I would love to be at!
June 7th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
Thanks to everyone for coming today. I know that The Wife and I both had a blast and the burgers were fantastic! We are already working diligently on the next Lazy Lightning meetup but if you have any suggestions for a future events (including offers to host one yourself) please let me know!
I have started a Lazy Lightning Flickr group where you can posts photos relating to anything in the South Metro or that we discuss on the site including (but not limited to) food, events, etc. You’ll need a Flickr account (free) but aside from that there are currently no rules. Please e-mail me if you have any questions about using it.
You can check it out here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1100772@N24/pool/
Thanks again everyone. Fun times as always!
June 7th, 2009 at 6:58 pm
How about a potluck at a park with some food competitions, i.e. most unusual appetizer, ugliest dessert, etc.
Great time today, by the way. A good crowd, a good burger.
Thanks, papa bill.
June 7th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Sandy,
Don’t be crazy! Some of us are picky eaters (ok, just me)! I kid ;)
I’d definitely be down for a potluck….as long as Coca Cola is served, of course!
June 8th, 2009 at 8:57 am
picky eaters!!! i didn’t see many crumbs left on the table yesterday!!
bb
June 8th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
I didn’t know who anyone (except Sandy and Mrs. Sandy) were. And Bill and Kim of course.
June 8th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
er, Sandy and MR. Sandy. oops. I didn’t even learn the name of the girl I was sitting next to.
Also, I’m an incredible picky eater.
June 11th, 2009 at 9:04 am
my take would be in no particular order:
saturday am coffee klatch once a month, whoever shows up, shows up! valley girl, (no caribou or starbucks)
potluck picnic sounds good
bilke ride, 10 miles or less, 100 miles or more for mspd!
chili cook off
kings inn anytime
bb
June 11th, 2009 at 9:11 am
bb,
1. I like the idea of the coffee klatch. I think it would be best to set it the same Saturday of every month so people know it’s coming w/o thinking too much. Third Saturday?
2. If anyone has any suggestions (or is willing to volunteer) to do the potluck (with bean bag tourney?!) please let us know here or send me an e-mail. I took a quick look at Dakota County parks’ shelters and they’re all booked for the summer and I have a feeling that many of the local city parks are as well. If you know better or are willing to take the time to find one and make the reservation, I’d appreciate it as I’m swamped with real life and this stupid website we like to frequent ;-)
3. Bike ride sounds good too but someone else will have to handle that event entirely. Let me know and I’ll get it posted for you and the rest.
4. I’m big into the chili event but I think that’s more appropriate for fall. I love chili and I love doing events but the summer is filling up and I don’t know if I need to sweat anymore than I already am. October/November?
5. I’ll definitely setup another King’s event next summer–hopefully this time with baseball as was originally intended but as I said in #4, summer is slipping away for me and the calendar is full.
Thanks for the awesome suggestions!

Bikes are for poor people and drunkards who have lost their license.
