From the Star Tribune’s South Metro Police Blotter:
Free beer in Apple Valley:
May 21st, theft. Someone took several cases of beer as a truck was making a delivery to a business in the 15200 block of Galaxie Avenue.
May 25th, theft. Someone stole three cases of beer from an open garage in the 13500 block of Gossamer Way.
Take that you little asshole!
Indecent exposure. As an officer was sitting at County Road 42 and Gardenview Drive, she saw a local boy she recognized walk by. He continued walking, then stopped, dropped his pants and “mooned’ passing vehicles. He then ran. He was issued a summons.
Must be all those horses in Shakopee!
Smell. A person in the 200 block of 4th Avenue W. reported smelling something hot in the area.

Too funny! I just posted a few items from the local police blotters last night, too. What the hell happened to the Twin Cities last week? There are some of the damnedest entries I’ve ever seen.

The Shakopee smell wouldn’t have been horses in that particular area. My experiences would lean towards the smell being the delicious Rahr Malting plant which trumps the odor given off by the Certainteed shingle plant further east towards Valleyfair. But you never know, a horse could have broken out of Canterbury and left a steam horse loaf on someone’s lawn in DT Shakopee.

sornie,
On my many drives along MN-13/101 that plant never smelled “hot”. It smelled more like burning rubber and shit. Cold winter days when I had to have the vents open to keep the window from fogging and then subsequently freezing during my hour long commute for 12 miles, I usually attempted to hold my breath along there as long as I could :(
