This is the third post in the South Metro Restaurant Inspection series. I have already written posts to cover Apple Valley and Farmington as well as Burnsville and you should check them out for other information pertinent to the discussion.
While I have posted restaurant inspection information from as far away as Boston, MA and Texarkana, Texas I figured I’d post some links to data that’s available closer to home:
1. Milwaukee, WI offers a fantastic search engine for their inspection reports and while not as slick as some of the others I’ve seen, at least the information is available in a format which makes more sense than waiting up to 30 days for e-mailed copies of PDF files like you have to do in Minnesota
2. Iowa has a statewide searchable index available for its citizens to utilize. It doesn’t provide PDFs which makes it easier to just browse through and look at the data quickly.
It is still mind boggling to me that I have automated nearly everything I post below with some simple scripting yet the MDH continues to lag behind other states and communities with their refusal to publish this information online like it needs to be. The excuse that it’s cost prohibitive, time consuming, or any other excuse is nothing but a load of bullshit.

It’s probably only available in paper copy and I’m not about to waste paper to receive copies that aren’t in PDF format.
