Last week’s poll was about frisbee golf (disc golf, frolf, whatever) and how many of you have played it. I was definitely surprised that so many people out there have thrown a disc or two and it was nice to hear that it may just happen to be a theme for a future meetup. When I get a chance, I’ll get out there and scope the courses at night to see what we’re up against and I’ll get something going. In the mean time, you’ll have to wait for the next thing I’m cooking up which I should have more information on in the coming weeks–stay tuned.
One to this week’s poll… I was looking for a poll topic (I’ll run the I Love to Hate Burnsville Poll after this one finishes) and asked Kim for some ideas. She asked how many people get summer hours. You know, those people that get off at noon on Friday (after supposedly working 4 x 9s for the rest of the week) from Memorial Day to Labor Day? The ones that are the envy of everyone else? Yeah, people like Kim. Boo.
At my company we have a fairly flexible working schedule and I work from home one day a week (Fridays) which was solely based on the fact that we have one car and Kim needs it for her half-days during the summer (the 477s don’t run during the day and the bus takes nearly two hours if you leave at noon. She rides the LRT on those days instead). I enjoy that while I am still working after Kim gets home on Friday, at least we can take off to do whatever it is we want right after quitting time. No needing to wait for 4 PM and then another hour+ until I get back to the house. I must say that when I did have true summer hours (4 x 9 or 4 x 10) it was really nice to be able to get a head start on the weekend, one that made it feel just long enough.

So what about you? Do you get more flexible hours during the summer? 4 x 9s? 4 x 10s? Work from home? Maybe you’ve never heard of such non-sense and want in on the action. Whatever you feel, go ahead and comment on and let us know and then be sure to check out our expired polls in the archive or read through the previous posts about polls here.
