From the Pioneer Press Police Calls here:
Attempted theft: It was reported April 12 that someone tried to steal a Virgin Mary statue from the front yard of a home in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue South. The cement base had been dug out, but the statue apparently was too heavy to move.
I mean, I used to permanently borrow lawn decorations of various shapes and sizes back in the day but come on, a Virgin Mary statue? At least lawn gnomes, for sale and AAA Security signs were cool to gank but abducting young virgins? We should save the abductions of those poor girls for Kelley Lorezeno (PDF warning) who is about to become the first Level III sex offender in Burnsville.
Why he didn’t do more time for kidnapping a 16 year old girl and jerking-off in front of her I’ll never know. For some reason, I think that kidnapping that include sex offenses should require more time to be served than three or less years…
What do you think?

At least the dirtbag won’t be living within sight of my house, an elementary school and a couple of parks like he did when he was arrested.
And yeah, in my version of utopia, we would have a way to keep these kinds of people isolated longer from the general public.

MSPD,
He wasn’t living where he committed the crime. He abducted her from a mall and then took her to the basement.
It’s not like he won’t have transportation (legs?) where he will be residing :(

I know and I’m in touch with the reality of these things. There are all kinds of oddballs living among us. But when this happened and I found out he lived up the street, I couldn’t help but consider that my wife and neighbors walked/jogged/biked past this guy’s house hundreds of times. If he HAS to move back into the community, I’ll admit that, selfishly, I’m fine with him living on the other side of town this time.
