From the Pioneer Press’ South St Paul Police Calls:

Shoplifting: Police responded May 8 to a report of shoplifting at Kaposia Convenience Center, 1214 Southview Blvd. Police located the 18-year-old suspect walking in an alley. He told police he was homeless and admitted to stealing a beverage and beef jerky. He was placed in the back of the squad car while police continued an investigation. The store’s owner said the suspect threw the beef jerky at her husband after the husband followed the suspect out of the store. The man began punching the plexiglass and center cage of the police car. After police placed him in handcuffs, the suspect spit and licked the plexiglass, the police report said. He told police that he just wanted a ticket so he could go somewhere else and shoplift. Police arrested him on suspicion of theft and disorderly conduct.
