Today was another *tired* day. I was up late watching last night’s episode of Rescue Me (a weird fucking episode at that but I’m not going to go into details) and paid for it this morning. I was glad that I had laid out my clothes and swim stuff last night or I don’t know if I would have made it through this morning. Making my sandwich (minus mayo!) and getting out the door was one ordeal I don’t want to soon repeat in the same manner.
I made it alive to the pool and found myself standing on the edge (as I did for many years prior) wondering if I really, really, really wanted to dive into that freezing ass cold pool and beat the living shit out of myself. Swimming currently remains interesting and fun, unlike how it was under the fat sweaty fucker himself.
Anyway, the rest of the team is still getting ready for their open water swim this weekend so practice wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but the guys in my lane did ask me to lead. This causes me two problems… 1) I have to think about the times we are leaving on and 2) I have to know what the hell is going on — two things that I don’t like having to do at 6 AM.
Anyway, I did fairly well today and I’m not as sore as I have been. Good stuff.
