Out with Chris, Laura, and Kimmy at the Town Talk Diner in Minneapolis. Kim and I have eaten here before with Aaron and since we enjoyed our last visit we figured we bring Laura and Chris along.
The place was absolutely packed, as always, but we were surprised that we didn’t have to wait for a table. We were seated immediately at a nice table against the wall and away from most of the hustle and bustle.
Our waiter, a creepy guy who thought he was funny, took our drink orders while we decided on our choices. Kim and I ordered appetizers (cheese curds and onion rings) and then we ordered our main entrees. I went with their pork chop, Kim and Chris had their egg sandwich, and Laura went with their veggie sandwich.
The appetizers were awesome. We had their onion rings the last time we dined but the cheese curds were a new choice. Not being natives to Minnesota, cheese curds in general don’t impress us. The “best curds” at the State Fair are nothing more than mozzarella sticks in bite sized pieces but those offered at the Town Talk are exceptionally well done. From the batter to the sauce, everything was done well and even Chris and Laura were pretending to be native Minnesotans while devouring the greasy treats.

The main entrees were excellent as always. My pork chop was not only interesting but flavorful and tender. Perfectly cooked with only a little pink inside. Mmm. Kim and Chris enjoyed their sandwiches and Kim brought the rest home; knowing how much Kim enjoys breakfast food, I have a feeling this meal won’t go to waste as so many others have… Laura was very excited about hr veggie sandwich as well as the entire restaurant and is already looking forward to our next visit.
We asked for dessert menus but didn’t see anything the really caught my eye. The Town Talk’s complimentary penaut butter chocolate things were enough to tide us over till next time while adding yet another anchor to remind us to come back again.
