Today we headed out a little later than yesterday and went straight for Perkins (again) for breakfast. We were planning on going to Epcot and did exactly that.
I don’t remember if we visited Epcot on my last visit but my mother had a few specific shows she wanted to see here. My father is of Homer’s opinion that, “ohhhh, it’s even boring to fly over!” and my wife was just happy to be in a skirt and the sun.
Kim and I are staying Saturday as well so we upgraded our tickets to a three day with park hopper so we could visit the Animal Kingdom as well as the Magic Kingdom again before we leave.
We entered Epcot way ahead of the rush and hit the ever so dumb Spaceship Earth first. They have improved on it a bit since the first time I went through but it was still dead and boring.
Afterwards we went to see the Seas with Nemo and Friends at Kim’s request. A new addition as of October, it was bright and fun. We waited in *no* line for this one either but later in the day it was lined outside for at least a 1/4 mile. It’s not worth *that*.
After Nemo, we toured the aquariums and then headed for Test Track. It came recommended from a friend and te reviews online were mostly glowing. The wait said 40 mins but we were done in under 40. The ride was ok, I routinely drive 40+ mph over what they allow but it was ok for the park. Certainly one of the better attractions here.
After Test Track, my mother wanted to see Soarin’ but the wait was 120 mins. We hopped in the 40 min line for The Land which ended up only being 15. I chastised some ignorant line jumping adults and made them apologize for being rude. I deserved a round of applause.
The Land was much improved over our last visit with some impressive pumpkins hanging from under the plants in rope harnesses. Pretty neat shit.
After The Land we headed for the World Showcase to have lunch. We decided to take the boat over just for the hell of it :)
The boat ride was nice but I’m looking forward to the walk in the sunshine on the wa back. We stopped in “France” to get some pastries that my father was looking for. We ended up spending $35 on pastries alone heh. My father got a peach tart and chocolate mousse as well as a turkey sandwich. My mother went with a creme brule and Kim with a strawberry torte. I took a peach pastry which was fantastic. I got a nibble of the creme brule and thought that was yummy as well.
We walked awhile longer looking at the various shops while I searched for food. We made it to the Maelstrom ride before food, which might be a good thing, and proceeded to wait for 20 mins while desperately having to pee ;) The ride itself was over too quickly and wasn’t really interesting at all. If anything, I felt like I was in MN.
After the Maelstrom, Kim and I headed over to “The UK” for food. The pub didn’t serve food, most things were sit down, and the only thing left was fish and chips. Aaron would be proud but it’s no grilled cheese.
Dinner reservations are for 7:30 tonight so we have some time to either hang out here some more, go back to the hotel for a nap, or fuck off in the pool while soaking up some more sun.
