Sank invited us to spend the weekend at his cabin and Kim and I ever-so-graciously accepted. We spent an awesome weekend watching the sunrise, fishing (lots of fish in that damn lake but they’re missing about 20 of them which ended up in our stomachs!), chatting, and eating. We were even graced by Whit’s wonderful presence Saturday evening for dinner and were treated to even more awesome food with an invite for all of us to enjoy a tasty French toast breakfast at her cabin nearby and the introduction of Whit’s Kid’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Smores (if you haven’t had these incredible things, make them soon–you won’t need to ever go back). Many thanks go out to both Sank and Whit for an amazing weekend! You guys rock!
What did you guys do this weekend? I hope you got to enjoy the beautiful weather as much as we all did!

Let’s see…stayed in Friday night and watched a movie plus some stuff we had on the Tivo.
Saturday was disgustingly hot, at least down here, so we tried to stay indoors as much as we could. Stopped by the library, then went up to Minneapolis to hit Tower Games to pick up a card game we’d been looking for, then over to United Noodles to get a few groceries. Got lost in south Minneapolis while trying to take a shortcut. Was invited to a party, but my wife was really tired so we passed on it. Stopped by Big Top Liquors in Eagan, then another evening of movies and Tivo before we fell asleep.
Yesterday my dad and I went hiking in Lebanon Hills park; the weather was much more pleasant than on Saturday and it was well before the rain. Then in the afternoon we stopped by my parents’ house in Lakeville for a few hours, and spent the evening reading and doing some stuff online.

Out of curiosity, why? What can you do at 90 F that you can’t comfortably do at 60 F, besides swimming and maybe some other water activities?

Be warm? 60F is not warm (shorts weather starts at 80F) and I enjoy water sports and activities.

I’ll wear shorts year-round indoors, and from about 50F on outdoors if I’m active, 60F if I’m standing around.

That’s because you live in Minnesota and people here think that’s normal–it’s not.

Looks like a great time. Where is this place?
I left on Thursday for a similar time on Clearwater Lake about an hour north of International Falls. Stinks to be back at work.
