We started the day out at Whaler’s Village right up the road from the hotel. We wanted to get some shopping in and this was the perfect place for us to do that — if we had shown up 45 minutes later… When we got there most of the shops were still closed but we did buy some gifts at the infamous ABC Store and then we spent the rest of our time walking around and taking silly photos.
After leaving there we headed straight to the beach and our rented cabana. Soon after returning from a dip in the ocean they changed the flag to RED which indicated no swimming (due to riptides). Most people ignored the warnings and swam anyway.
After drinks and a walk on the beach at sunset we headed to Buzz’s Wharf in Maalaea Harbor. Kim had their crab cakes which came with a spicy chili-like dipping sauce and their Tahitian Prawns (speciality) while I went traditional and ordered their Chicken Marsala.
The Chicken Marsala was disappointing with only one piece of chicken and a couple of sliced squash pieces. Even though I’m a huge rosemary fan, this chicken had entirely too much. Kim’s prawns looked good and she said they were. I didn’t care for them and would not recommend them or this place to anyone even though it came highly recommended by locals and fellow tourists alike. Red Lobster is better and I refuse to eat there.
I forgot my hat on the floor here and decided to come back later in the week to pick it up.
