Some people tend to be genre readers and others just read whatever catches their eye. I definitely fall into the latter category as I’m sure many of us do. I mostly read fantasy, mysteries and thrillers but I’ve read and enjoyed all manner of books over the years. I really enjoyed Malcolm Gladwell’s books Blink and The Tipping Point. I also enjoyed Buyology and Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster. I like things that delve into some of the hows and whys of human nature and society at large.
I usually don’t read romance novels or chick lit but I do read and love JD Robb’s In Death series and also Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books. I also read Harry Potter and all of the Twilight books. Mostly out of a desire to know what had fascinated so many people but I admit I liked both of those series.
Most recently I’ve read the following books:
Both the Robert Crais and Patrick Rothfuss books came as recommendations from other readers here at Lazy Lightning. This site attracts a variety of followers with many different view points. It seems however that a lot of us have the enjoyment of reading in common. It’s fun to read why people read and liked or disliked a particular book. I’m happy to have another place to look for good recommendations and a place to discuss books with smart well read people.
So, what are you reading right now? Please share your current favorite authors and books. Maybe something caught your eye in a genre you don’t normally read. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
