According to this Dakota County Criminal Complaint, a woman who sells clothing for others pulled a knife on teenagers over a dispute about a few dollars.
From the complaint:
On or about August 27, 2012, at approximately 8:26 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Gorman Avenue on a report of an assault involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers met with the 15 year old victims, MJH and HLN. Victim MJH was crying, and indicated that she knew the suspect, Kristie Lee Rich, DOB: 6-18-1984. According to the MJH, Rich has on occasion agreed to sell clothing for her, and today she and HLN went to Rich’s apartment to collect $11.00, which she believed Rich owed her for items she sold. Once inside the apartment, MJH and Rich were arguing about the money. MJH stated that at one point, Rich told them to leave and pulled a knife out of her purse, held it in her right hand, and made a sweeping motion with the knife. MJH stated that Rich was approximately five feet from her, and described the knife as white/tanish handle with a round tip on a 6-8 inch blade that did not fold. MJH stated that Rich told them “get the **** out of my house”, and stated that she “wasn’t afraid to cut a little girl”. MJH indicated she was terrified by this. MJH stated she then left, went home and began crying. MJH stated that Rich’s boyfriend was there, and had to restrain Rich until they left.
Officers spoke to Rich, who admitted telling the girls to get out of her apartment. Rich claimed they owed her $5.00. Rich denied showing the girls a knife, but admitted having a knife and told officers that she kept it in a blanket in the hall closet, but thought the girls may have seen it before because it has been on the floor in her bedroom. Rich admitted knowing that she is not allowed to possess this type of knife because she is on probation.
What sort of person pulls a knife on teenagers over $11 (or $5 depending on the story believed)? The sort of person who has a very long criminal history including 4th and 5th degree assault, violent harassment/restraining order, 4th degree intentional damage, 4th degree criminal damage to property, and the list goes on and on. The real question is why someone with such a long criminal history continues to be left out of jail when they have such a long and varied history of violating the law and their probation with violent offenses? What do you think? Is someone who has more than 15 different convictions over the last 10 years, 6 of which appear to be more or less violent, 4 of them towards people, should be out of jail or is this someone who has proven they are a totally useless member of society? Whatever you have to say about this piece of garbage go head and comment on as I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I cannot view any human being as a piece of garbage; flawed, disturbed, etc. – maybe, but garbage? No. We throw garbage away… I can’t imagine throwing away a human being.

So let me get this straight.
Let’s say I do a whole bunch of crimes like this chicka above (allegedly) committed. I have done my time and I get out to resume my successful career selling clothes for people and The Man won’t let me even own a small knife?
This clear over reach of government control has got to stop. How am I going to cut into a steak? With the limited income stream I generate selling clothes for others, clearly I won’t be able to afford such luxuries like eating at Steak America everyday like the rich folk. I need my knifes!
Other issues:
Is a pizza cutter ok to have?
Cleaver?
Swichblade comb?
How am I going to break into one of those items you buy with the hard plastic vacuum seal? Those are a bitch even with a good knife.
Self Tattooing is pretty much a no no.
The list goes on and on, but this blatant overstepping of government control has got to stop.

If only she had had an arts school to attend as a youth where she could have fit in.

I believe that if she were a male, especially a male of color, she would be in jail at this point. But the justice system is conditioned to see women as less violent than men; just as they see the female as the better parent the majority of the time, regardless of the reality of the situation.
